Champagne
The Requena roots are tracing back more than two centuries, dating the crop of the vineyard and the consumption before the Rome occupation in the Seventh Century before Christ. This tradition marks the winegrower; that is the reason why Spanish people treat their vineyards in an exceptional way, allowing them to obtain excellent grape quality.
You can find Requena’s county in the land of Valencia, at a 70 Km distance from the Mediterranean Sea. It has an altitude that goes from 700 to 900 meters above sea level. On a tableau, with 45 kilometers diameter, Requena is the only plain in the interior of Valencia.
This geographic situation marks the climate of the land, classifying it as Mediterranean with continental influences provided by its altitude and distance from the sea. This particularity is distinguishes it from the other of territories in Valencia.
Requena’s winters are long and cold, occasionally achieving, until 15º under cero. In contrast, the Requena land has short summers with hot days and dry and fresh nights (another characteristic of the continental climate). These temperature variations are caused by the Levante’s wind, which begins to blow in the middle of the afternoon until late night.
Thanks to this climate, the geographic situation, the rough soils and the knowledge of the people, we produce astonishing white grapes.
